The Department of Public Safety values education and personal responsibility in the University of Iowa Community. By raising awareness and helping others protect themselves and their belongings, the community will continue to grow. Violent Incident Survival Training (VIST)
The goal of this training is to begin your mental preparation of recognizing, assessing, and responding to threats against you. A.L.I.C.E. is being taught around the country to law enforcement, college campuses, K-12 schools, private business, and other social organizations who realize they need education on this topic.
Rape Aggression Defense (RAD)
The nation's largest self-defense program for women improves self-awareness, teaches personal safety techniques, and helps participants gain confidence and knowledge. More »

Course for all UI Community members to learn basic personal safety and resistance techniques and reduce risk. More »
Disruptive Persons/Personal Safety and Self-Protection for University of Iowa Employees
Prepares participants for disruptive persons and addresses emergency protocols for departments or organizations. More »
Alcohol Awareness: Know the Law & Know Your Rights
Participant gain awareness of state and local laws regarding alcohol, and learn consequences and penalties when these laws are violated. More »
