Do you provide fingerprinting services? What are the hours? How much is it?
Beginning July 1, 2011 we will be charging $10 for fingerprinting services. We will take VISA, Mastercard, Discover, personal check, but not cash at this time. We only provide fingerprinting services to University of Iowa faculty, staff, and students. Please bring your fingerprint cards in but do not fill them out until after you are fingerprinted. We use a Crossmatch Livescan fingerprinting system. The hours of fingerprinting are:
Mon-Tues: 1030 am - 6:00 pm
Wed-Fri: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Will you give me a ride to the hospital?
We provide medical transportation from campus to a hospital and back. However if you have an emergency, call 911 for an ambulance. We will not provide transportation services in emergency situations or when it may be inappropriate to do so, such as broken bones, excessive bleeding, or unstable vital signs. The officer has the right to refuse transportation and call an ambulance when appropriate.
Can you unlock my car if I locked the keys in it?
We provide vehicle-unlocking service to cars that are parked on campus. You must be the vehicle owner or lawful possessor of the car with some method of proof of this fact. However we cannot unlock cars with power locks and we have only one type of tool to unlock the car with so we cannot unlock some cars or models. Please call our dispatcher @ 335-5022 for questions.
What if I am locked out of my office?
We will only unlock offices for people who have locked their own keys in their own office. You must have a picture ID and we must be able to verify that you should have access to the office. If we cannot verify your access, you must contact your supervisor for access to your office. If you forgot your keys or lost them, we will be unable to unlock your office we will be unable to verify you should have access to the room. We apologize for the inconvenience, but security is our #1 goal.
What if my ID card or proximity card will not work?
We have no control over the electronic building access system. You must contact Facilities Management at 335-5071 for questions. Due to the complexity of the system and variable user rights, we will not override the electronic system.
