Daily Crime Log

The crime log includes all crimes reported to the Department of Public Safety.

*Note: This Crime Log and the Clery Act statistics cannot be reconciled with each other. The crime log references Iowa criminal laws, where Clery Act definitions rely on federal uniform crime reporting definitions or even separate definitions entirely. Also, Clery statistics are geographic specific; whereas the crime log includes all crimes reported to the Department of Public Safety. For questions please contact our department.

Arrest Log

Our online arrest log enables you to view the charges of individuals arrested by the University of Iowa Police Department.

Fire Log

This fire log is is compiled in accordance with the Campus Security Act which requires the university to report fires that occur in residence halls or housing units owned or controlled by the University of Iowa. It does not include other fires that occur on campus.

Crime Alert Log

Crime Alerts (Timely Warnings) are triggered by crimes that have already occurred but represent an ongoing threat. The Department issues a crime alert for any Clery Act crime committed on the University of Iowa's Clery geography that is reported to campus security authorities or a local law enforcement agency, that is considered to by the institution to represent a continuing threats to students and employees.

Recent Hawk Alerts

Hawk Alerts (Emergency Notification) are triggered by an event that is currently occurring on or imminently threatening the campus. The Department of Public Safety initiates Hawk Alerts for any significant emergency or dangerous situation occurring on the campus involving an immediate threat to the health or safety of students and employees. This log includes the text of previous Hawk Alerts, as well as any updates on the incidents that triggered those emergency notifications.
