Iowa City and University of Iowa Police Departments host winter clothing drive

ICPD located the reporting party and upon further investigation, found no evidence of the reported crime. This incident remains under investigation.

UI Police arrest Georgia man for domestic assault and kidnapping

Wednesday, October 4, 2023
On Tuesday, Oct. 3, at approximately 3:23 p.m., UI Police officers responded to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Emergency Department for a report of a possible domestic assault involving a weapon. As officers arrived, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted leaving the area of the hospital. Officers followed the vehicle for a short distance before initiating a traffic stop at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Byington Road, at which point the vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued. No injuries were reported in connection with the pursuit, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
