Special Events

We work closely with event organizers and campus partners to ensure that events are safe, enjoyable, and well-prepared for any potential emergency.

We offer many free and low-cost training programs to campus and the community.

Vehicle, room, and building unlocks

UI Police will provide vehicle, room, and building unlocking services at no charge to students, employees, or anyone parked in an on-campus parking lot. Jump start services are provided by UI Parking and Transportation.

If you are in need of any of these services, please call our non-emergency line 319-335-5022.

Unless it falls under an exception to the open records law, police reports are available to the public.

All accident reports can be retrieved from crashdocs.org. All other records requests must be requested through the UI Office of Transparency.

Campus Safety is dedicated to transparency and delivering timely and accurate information to students, employees, and the community.

Learn where to direct requests, review campus safety resources, and read the latest news from across our organization.

Our ride-along program aims to foster transparency, trust, and relationship building by inviting members of the community to witness the decision-making processes, collaboration with community partners, tactics and protocols employed by law enforcement in their efforts to maintain public safety. Eligible participants will be required to sign waiver of liability before the ride-along.

To learn more and make a request, call our non-emergency line 319-335-5022.
