The University of Iowa Police Department has partnered with Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) to offer two personal safety training courses to students as part of Wholistic Wellness Week.

This personal safety course blends risk reduction techniques with self-defense strategies. This training is aimed to help improve self-awareness, confidence, and knowledge in threatening situations, and learn risk reduction techniques.

The two safety training opportunities will take place on:

  • Monday, March 18, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 19, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Please RSVP here to confirm your attendance.

Both sessions will take place in the training room at Campus Safety headquarters, which is located on the lower level of the University Capitol Centre (UCC).

Directions:

To get to Campus Safety, take the elevator on the south side of University Capitol Centre (UCC) (next to the parking deck) to the basement level. From there, go through the door on your left, and visit the dispatch window to let them know you’re here for a training session.

Alternatively, you can access Campus Safety via S. Capitol Street. There is an exterior door near the parking deck on the west side of UCC.
