UI Police arrest Georgia man for domestic assault and kidnapping

On Tuesday, Oct. 3, at approximately 3:23 p.m., UI Police officers responded to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Emergency Department for a report of a possible domestic assault involving a weapon. As officers arrived, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted leaving the area of the hospital. Officers followed the vehicle for a short distance before initiating a traffic stop at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Byington Road, at which point the vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued. No injuries were reported in connection with the pursuit, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
