UI Police Response at Slater Residence Hall

Monday, September 16, 2024
On Sunday, Sept. 15, at approximately 9 p.m. the University of Iowa Police Department was made aware of a concerning social media post in reference to the possibility that a student was making explosives in Slater Residence Hall. Following a thorough investigation and interview, police determined there was no threat to public safety.

Hawk Alert Update: Iowa City Police investigate stabbing

Wednesday, September 4, 2024
Responding officers discovered an altercation had taken place involving a group of juveniles. One juvenile suffered a stab wound. The juvenile was treated at the scene and released.

At 7:02 a.m., police determined the package was not a threat. The incident remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.

Campus Safety has teamed up with Fraternity and Sorority Life and Undergraduate Student Government to distribute personal safety alarms, flowers, ribbons and Night Cap sticker to students. 

Those interested in receiving a personal safety alarm should mark their calendars, and plan to attend this upcoming safety tabling event. Please be prepared to present your student ID.
