Campus Safety adds 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline decals to Squad Cars

The University of Iowa is among the first Big Ten universities to add 988 to its campus safety vehicles. The new decals feature the national suicide and crisis lifeline number, which offers those in crisis a direct and confidential connection to trained counselors who can provide immediate assistance.

As a result of an investigation into the report of a person carrying a knife near the intersection of North Dubuque and Jefferson streets on April 4, 2024, Iowa City Police have made on arrest.

Because the fire had completely consumed the four impacted mews (a type of enclosure) when the first fire department arrived on scene, investigators could not determine the origin of the fire or any potential cause.
